Oh the places we go!

Springhill Farm's gluten free biscuit bin

This week we have been event hopping around Melbourne. Here is a sneak peek at some of our whereabouts.

Co-owners of Springhill Farm James and Fiona Whatley

First off the blocks, we visited Springhill Farm at the Fine Food Show - Australia's biggest hospitality and trade show. We made our way though the hundreds of exhibitors to happily arrive at their colourful booth, reminiscent of a humble country barn, with all sorts of sweet treats on offer. Springhill Farm fans Matt Wilkinson from Pope Joan and Michael James from MoVida Bakery also dropped into the wood slatted stand for a visit. As we left with our bellies full of new products like Elite Natural organic juices and Bravo Gelato's bite sized Bambino Cones, co-owners of Springhill Farm James and Fiona were gearing up for the Gluten Free Expo this Saturday at Caulfield Racecourse!

Yes, that is a cake, the bowl, fork and table are all edible!

Thursday night we got together with Ladro and other Spaghetti Blogenese fans to crown one restaurant with the title of Melbourne's best spaghetti bolognese at YGAP in St Kilda . Blogger Sarah Pinch made it her mission to find the best spaghetti bolognese in Melbourne by eating 52 bowls of the stringy pasta in just one year. Ladro came in a close second place with just a half of a point difference from the winning restaurant, Rococo in St. Kilda. Congratulations Rococo and to Villa Romana in Carlton for third place! We will be following Sarah once again as she takes on a new challenge of finding Melbourne's best mexican cuisine on her new blog: Hungry Chica

Ladro's silver medal creation

And to top it all off, Run Forrest will be donning their Sunday best and masks in theme for the Sommeliers Ball this Sunday at Ormond Hall... watch this space for pics and ponderings from the night next week!
